If we see the history H1B and GC numbers were never increased except 2004 20k inpast 15 years In 2000 it was increasd temporarlily for 4 years.Also EB numbers were never increased except temporary reliefs.If it is increased by Skill bill in current form that is really an acheivement. If there is a possiblity they may increase H1B because that is temorary visa(But in reallity not) and GC numbers may remain same. But if increased to 115k then also cap will be reached in another 1 month because there are more number of Desi companies than number of H1Bs. Thats why they are asking exemptions for MS people and 20% adjustment for every year. We have to wait and see whether congress fall on this trap to do this without analysing the impact.

i was not able to attend the IV rally..emergency reasons..but still its fair for me to suffer..
its highly unlikely we can see a reform. I agree with logiclife's post..we deserve what we are getting into..
of the 800K applications u saw applying for AOS..even if 10K had come to DC rally it'd made a huge diff..
we all do line up for GCs like herds but dont have the guts to attend..
i know of so many ppl who say "all this rally is ridiculous".. and i dont pity them those who wait for 10 years..becoz u deserve to suffer and will continually suffer..

I'm almost at checkout for sending flowers. Interestingly I noticed that there are other forums where people are discussing the immigration issues and also where people are effected.
Lets make it a massive campaign. We can have a link on the immigration voice home page with exact details on the address and date (final) and impress on people that it shall work.
I noticed that many Chinese use other forums in Chinese language. In fact I requested one of friends to post these details in their forum as well. May be each one of us can forward the details to others by E-mail or other wise. Try to make 10th July as big day for USCIS leaving all document packages aside but busy handling the roses.
Media would definitely be happy discussing the approach for days and in way discuss the issue as well.
Flowers do bring smile and a little bit of introspection to every one.
Lets do it big way.

It means they have used 90K Visa out of 140-150K ..it means 50K visa left for next 5 month..not sure how much visa dates wlll be moved.

If EB3 ROW becomes current or close to current next visa bulliten there might be some movement for India and china in coming months or atleast IN FY 2009.

There is a 99% chance of a TV crew covering this event. I just spoke with them and they are just working out the logistics. They will reach the USCIS office at around 12 PM and said that it would be great if some of us are available around that time to talk to them.

But for FUTURE employment letter i signed a bond for 10 grands saying that i wont leave them till 1 Year after GC....
I bargained for 1 yr after EAD ( I already worked 2.5 yrs with them and i'm in this country for 7.5 yrs ) but the bargain was a failure... I could just change
certain Clauses but nothing in the core of the Bond/agreement.
After EAD i would show the bond to a lawyer for $250 and ask them if i can win the case within 4-5 grands ... If yes , i would hire that lawyer or else
i'll pay 10 grands and do something else :))
If i succeed by the lawyer route i would spend my win sum of $5000 for a vacation to Alaska or Europe .....
Take it easy guys - Lets just hope USCIS accepts out 485 app tomorrow.
My app has just reached Omaha, NE at 8 PM .... Hope it reaches Lincoln,NE by morning tomorrow ( its just 1 hr drive)
with a copy of I-140, you can complete all your paperwork between now and dawn tomorrow.
In the meanwhile, act everything is normal. Ask a employment letter with job title and current salary (say, you want it for trip to Canada or renewing your DL or some 'genunine' reason like that.

I think we all understand we are in this together. No doubt.
A single post from CORE IV can make a huge difference to herd the cattle (including myself) here. For Instance, AILA letter asking for H1B and EB relief today.
I had posted a modified version of their letter in our forum in which I had deleted asking for raise in H1 and retained only EB part. IF IV core thinks
this is a good (or a bad ) idea and suggests what to do, our members will be energized.
For my part, I have added my personal story, added the EB relief part of AILA letter and emailed two senators and one congressman in my state.
Also, the same letters signed are ready in an envelope to be snail mailed.
So, IV core, from time to time, when there is a campaign by AILA and other organizations which could help us, please suggest how you would like us to proceed.I am not trying to create more work for you, but as a member, I think it would benefit all of us.

IV endorsed efforts are listed in action alerts page. If you choose to go and meet the lawmakers we have put together all information for this purpose

Buddy, it looks like its only you and me remaining who has not received the FP notice. For me its been 30 days since opening SR and nothing. We are the unfortunate ones who have not only not received FP but our application are in TSC , where opening an SR is of no use.
We may want to try a different strategy to inquire about our FP rather than calling that number floating around which is of no use to us. All I got from calling that number was WAIT , Local ASC must be busy.
I am not sure InfoPass appointment will help, but hope its worth trying.

I contacted my Attorney (Its company attorney) and he told me that he will make an enquiry with USCIS. Apparently he has a list of all the pedning cases who are current this month and he is planning to send the list to USCIS.
Lets see what i get next week. Week 3 done. Week 4 starts!

I called USCIS today morning, response was by end of this (oct)month they will complete all data entry for I-485. He told that last week they did lot of entries for July 2 and we should see the receipt number any time soon.
