I'm seeing lots of folks being greened whose PD is after us. Is it possible that they have PD on their 485 (because I-140 concurrently filed) and so it was picked up by officer? I guess it's not.
In response to infopass officer's request to expedite, I received letter from USCIS (within a week) . It shows my receipt# correct but shows filing date 10/10/2007. Actually, this is receipt date of case transfer to TSC from NSC.
The filing date on SR is manually entered by the person opening the SR. It has got nothing to do with your real filing date. All that matters on the SR is your A#.

Yes .. you can start a company on h1 ..
but as per h1 laws .. you can only work for your employer
So essentially you cannot do any work for your company .. no soliciting business, HR .. nothing.
So what you do is partner with someone who is on GC .. so you can get work done .. or hire employees for everything.
Starting company is easy LLC, C, S corp .. no issues

guys can i say something instead of showing our true colors we all should join force and for one common reason that is getting our green cards done.I have been here for last 13 years and am still awaiting my green card as my eb2 application got denied as my employer showed loss in the year opf filling my petition and then i became lazy and didnt file in eb3 category but now finally i amd awaiting the pd so lets all get together and get greened.

I don't think we are wasting energy/time by identifying gaps and answering questions to folks who want to know more about what exactly are we talking about here. Moving on and gaining more and more support etc., all these things need to be done in parallel.

Let me ask you a question.
When you renew EAD what will be the start date. For example:
Lets say current EAD Expires 12/31/2007.
I apply for renewal in July say 07/01/2007.
When I get the new EAD would it start from 12/31/2007 to 12/31/2008 or sometime in July/August/September when it gets approved?
Basically would the renewal date start from where the current one is expiring or from the dat it got approved?

I have observed whichever is later
Meaning your current EAD valid till 12-31-2007 and approval is before then starting date is 01-01-2008
If approval date is after 12-31-2007 then starting date is approval date.

Well, we learned the hard way that 'optimization' effort is bad, as both of us had to stop working during the gap. It's not a very pleasant feeling having to explain our respective employers that we had such issue. We lost money too, as we couldn't be legally paid during the gap - in addition to the unnecessary stress. I wish USCIS issues EADs with longer validity period - something like 3 years (but I once heard Aman say that they couldn't do so due to a software glitch in their system!!). In any case, we are now filing for EAD renewals well in advance of the current one's expiry."

Congratulations to everyone who is getting their applications approved.
My PD is Aug 2006 and I might have a remote chance of getting approved this month. Can someone give me the customer service number to talk about the 485 status. I keep seeing that many people talk to the customer service and get updates on the case. My case is pending at TSC. Thanks a lot.

You can think what you want. Most of IV core is/was Eb3. But never ever have anyone here sided with any one category. Maybe that's why a few good men rose above this small thinking, and they had the courage to join the core team for representing entire EB.
You can bicker as much as you want but you do not represent Eb2. As few days back there were a few claiming to be in Eb3 and they were blaming IV for working only for Eb2. These guys can also bicker as much as they want and they don't represent Eb3 either.
IV functions and represents the collective issues of the entire EB community without any regard to any amount of bickering from anyone in either Eb2 or Eb3 or India or China or ROW or any other group. You can say what you want but it won't stick. Our goal is clearly accessible from the homepage. If you don't agree with our goals, feel free to take this bickering somewhere else.

that Senior Members would be more involved in posting on this website. It makes a lot of difference if core members who have a closer perspective of the truth could respond to some questions on these threads.
