Hi,
I applied my 485 on 18th and reached Neberaska.
I have been calling USCIS for the last 5 weeks.Today they gaveme my receipt number only for I-765 and not for others.These were porcessed on Sep18.i have not had the receipt in hand.
My checks are also not cashed at this time .Is some one in the same sitiuation as I am.
Let me know

my lawyer just faxed me my I-485 receipt.
Center: NSC
RD: 26th July (sent on 25th July)
ND: 22nd Aug
140 was approved at NSC. No LUDs on my approved I-140 or H1s.
Attorney sent his checks, so don't know whether those checks are cleared or not.
Even though I applied 485, AP, EAD for me and for my wife in the same package, we
received receipt for only my I-495. Hey, I'm not complaining. Just passing this info to you guys.

Thanks for the excellent suggestion. Do you know Dr. Woo or do you know someone who would know Dr. Woo? That would help a lot. Will initiate the contact with 80-20 initiative right away.
If anybody has more of such suggestions/leads please send them across and help this effort.

Can someone find a US LAW which states that you cannot hold or cud apply for 2 PRs US and Canada (or any other) ...? I could not find anything.

Just like everyother memeber has expressed opinion, i was shocked to read your posting.
May god give you the courage to handle the stress and resposibality you have now.
I keep trying to convince.."Did i realy read that posting or was it just a bad dream"..unfortunalty its not a dream..!!!
Do get it checked from well know doctors. Here is a youtube version of comenecement speach given by Steve Jobs. Even he was diagnized with cancer and he spent whole day thinking of his resposibality. But that evening the doctors realzied it was curable cancer and were in tears ..!!!

When ever IV go and seek advise from Law firm or lobby firm they charge some money. No one is giving free advise in USA. We cannot run random campaign becasue people will not participate if no out come. We need to find out perfect time. Also we , and IV are common people who came from foriegn country and have no idea of whole US immigration system but law / lobby firm do.
If you and other sincere member contribute and participate activelly we may achive something. May be just giving few USD will not help. But there were so many anti coming to site and harming our agenda. since we have donor forum few anti come there. So if you are serious do contribute and get donor status. Participate in state chapter and work with IV and all of us. That will make date current for all.
So who is the leader who is responsible of DOING stuff with that money when I contribute

There are lot of people whodo investments,have kids and buy houses and everything else when they are on H1.
I don't see any reason to hold off things on H1. If your wife did master's why don't get her on H1, there are so many job openings available in market.

How did you let go of it. Did you have to tell the canadian consulate and send in your passport for them to remove your visa. I will be hitting the 3 year mark end of this year.

So its up to us to work extra hard to achieve things that will benefit 500,000 people.

Quite right, I know you meant that managing relationships has to be from both the sides, but with most desi employers it has become a one way street. Even with all the effort to manage relationship, the employee still gets scr*** and this needs to stop.

We would all like to part of a rally or protest but why give us only one days notice? Surely most people will not have read this post by tomorrow. We should organize this properly by sending out the message to the community well in advance and getting the required permits (I mean if you want this to be in any way successful that is).

If someone ports from eb3 to eb2 they should get the priority date of the day they were eligible to file an eb2 and not be able to carry the date from eb3.
Porting makes sense in a family based visa where your petitioner can file for an application while he is still a green card holder and then becomes a citizen which upgrades the beneficiary's category as well.
On an employment visa you file for an eb3 when you are eligible for an eb3 job, you file for an eb2 when you are eligible for an eb2 job. Why would you be able to jump ahead in the eb2 line when you were clearly did not have an eb2 job ? Just because you filed an application at some point of time in eb3 and waited a decade to get a better job doesn't mean someone else has to pay for your (pick one - laziness, ineptitude, lack of skill or lack of knowledge).
Most of IV Core is made of eb3 applicants and therefore there has never been any push from the core on this matter. And as someone said .. You ARE eating my lunch..
ha ha ha ha ha .... till few days back EB2 guys were saying we are with you.... do not be jealous.... fight together for EB... now after this article, now some of EB2 people are not happy with rules & sharing true color of spirit they were talking about...
