On the one side you have the EB2. Earning more, and better educated. Clearly more important human beings to IRS and society. On the other we have EB3 Junta trying to get what they think is their right to spillover.
Now I understand all your points and agree with all of them.
Only 1 question :D why is IV not fighting to increase the regular (non spillover) quota for the clearly better category EB2. This is clearly not fair such super humans having to share same numbers as lower categories. Lower categories should go to Bombay where there is one apartment which is still empty.
Or better still get rid of the EB3 category altogether. Problem is solved! :D

It's not always rosey up there, but schools are just as good if not better than US, generally safer and less xenphobic, and they will welcome and appreciate your skills; pay you a fair wage (that through hard work and good relationships you can ratchet up over the years), and welcome your family. CAD is going up. US dollar is going down.

Intel, HP, Agilent, Cisco, Microsoft, IBM, AMD, etc. Start applying. And guess what, if you really pine for the start and stripes, you can work your way to a transfer back on an L1 visa which may up your EB category and reduce your wait time.

Did you file I-140/I-485 concurrently. Where is employer's office location? and your residency?
I have filed I-140/I-485 concurrently on July 25th at Nebraska, my employer and my residence come under Texas Service centre according to new direct filing instructions.
Mine is Eb 3..was sent to Nebraska, got there July 2, signed by R. Michaels at 9 am...Transfered to Texas,Received July 6...They sent me the Notice of Action for my 140 but I don't know anything else and I also sent at the same time 485-765 for my whole family...

I agree with you on this kaka. I heard Ed Royce speak yesterday on how the house forced the fence bill without amnesty and how they plan on killing that bill. He even talked on on how they managed to force the president to have a pulblic ceremony to sign the bill instead of a small private one that the white house wanted. There is little hope that he and people like him will ever vote on anything that supports our requirements, even if the democrats win the house they will need lots of republican support to pass anything. Skill will always be linked to CIR.

Take this scenario.
Under current "mis categorized quota" setup a EB3 takes 6 years to get GC for entire family. take this following scenario.
So the diff
current primary @ebquota - 6 years minimum
current derivative @ebquota - 6 years minimum
correct primary @ebquota - less than 2 years approx ( one person in place of 3)
correct derivative @fbquota - say 7 years.
The diff will be approx 1 year for the derivative ( 7 years – 6 years ) when they are moved from ebquota to fbquota.
again it cannot be more than 7 years ( 2 years primary GC + 5 years primary USC). the primary will get citizenship in 5 years and sponser the wife with in 2 to 3 months. so the diff cannot be more that a year. for derivative.
Remember this point: this is not change of law. this is the correct interpretation of law).
If it is not today some one will bring it up to CIS very soon.
If you are USC and then you are talking abou the FB2. Not for the GC holder. So will have to wait for years.

another story:
i have a close friend who has been here since 1991 with no GC. he came for his undergraduate studies in 1991..finished that...got a good job...met a girl...got married...girl was also an undergrad here then went to grad school...then lost his job..girl was still in school...lost almost everything
then he built his life back..got a job....started working his way up...girl graduated..worked in a small company and then changed jobs..started gc process for the 3rd time...luckily got ead and ap....girl changed jobs...bought a house...retrogression happened....and hes still waiting
can u beat that...hes been here for 16 years.
putting off decisions is very easy when it comes to gc...many times u just need to bite the bullet and live ur life. dont get me wrong.. i have put off getting my h1b stamped for over 3 yrs...havent been out of the country for 5 yrs...now i have decided its not worth it and will do it sometime this yr.
like russell peter's chinese person says "be a man...do the right thing"

I did not get an approval for the 485 so was thinking what the process was here. Am I not supposed to be getting an approval notice in the email before the "Card Ordered" message came through ? I hope everything is over now, it was a long 51/2 years wait and just when you loose hope in the whole process this message turns up in my Inbox. I love this site and will continue to support it in whatever manner I can

All EB categories will be current all the time. As soon as a I485 EB case is filed the visa number should be allocated to the first 8000 odd cases for that category based on the PD of application. If a new case is filed tomorrow with a old PD he will get the visa number and the last guys application will move to waiting list. At the beginning of the year all visa numbers are allocated and nothing is wasted, even if the case is having issues like RFE, FBI check, etc the applicant knows that once cleared he will get his GC.

Probably she is reading a standard call script. God knows...
Today, I received the approval notice in mail. However I did not get the physical cards. The notice says that I may have to do the biometrics again to get the but need not take any action at this time.
